Why Volunteer?
At the Constitutional Democracy Project we believe in order to make democracy work - we all must do our part and be socially responsible for our communities and country. Often it is not until we are older that we 'get involved' but we know one does not have to wait.
When students as young 7-years-old learn they too can participate in our democracy, a sense of pride and awe comes over them. This is what we feel every day and want to pass on to all students and teachers across the Chicagoland area through our civics-based educational opportunities.
As a volunteer for the Constitutional Democracy Project you pass on knowledge based on real life experiences, you help develop students' critical thinking skills, and offer kids an opportunity to have a variety of positive adult role models.
Our project depends on volunteers like you to make its programs possible.

Research on law-related education shows that interaction with well-prepared volunteers has a positive effect on students’ learning and on the development of beneficial attitudes toward the law and legal institutions.
Volunteer Opportunities
Outside Resource Persons & Community Respondents
Highlights: These volunteers often serve as panelists and respondents for our student programs. Outside resource persons listen to and validate the ideas and projects presented by students while providing constructive feedback and modeling civil discussion.
Office Volunteers
Highlights: Constitutional Democracy Project is always in need of helping hands and minds. Whether its helping with classroom projects, major events, research, writing, fundraising or community outreach-we need your volunteer talents. Extra eyes and extra hands are always welcome.
Speaker's Bureau
Highlights: These volunteers often serve as content experts in the classroom. In-class presentations can be in-person or virtual. Content experts are used to supplement what educators are already teaching in their classrooms. From Career Day to Law Day, content experts are matched according to their area of expertise and appropriate grade level.
